Concept and realization of a touring exhibition on the subject of technological leadership in automobile manufacturing.
The abstract term “technological leadership“ is transformed into a scenographic image: The first Mercedes automobile and the latest model, the 650 hp SLR, are displayed on a 13x3 meter large pedestal. Through this, the visitor is able to experience the span of automotive development over the last 117 years. The chronology of these inventions is developing between both vehicles. It is represented by exhibits and graphic symbols and accompanied by a time line showing the milestones of this development on the side of the platform.
Underneath the glass surface, four free-moving robots are moving in a playful choreography. These robots are heading for the “information spots“. They play the role of archivists, story tellers and film projectionists, livening up the subjects with film sequences, animated texts and graphics. The visual appearance consists of overlapping concentric circles and it shines over the entire exhibition area.
