“The topic of climate protection is gaining momentum all over the world, and we are part of it!” CEO Ralf Brandstätter announces at the opening of the “Volkswagen Way to Zero Convention” 2021.

As one of the world’s leading car manufacturers, Volkswagen is not only on its way to become a CO2-neutral company by 2050, but also takes responsibility for actively driving the public discourse on e-mobility – in dialogic formats and critical discussions. With the first “Way to Zero Convention”, Volkswagen presents its innovations and goals on the way to a green zero while creating a hybrid space for experts, journalists, and spectators: In 9 hours of live broadcast and 14 panel discussions with 33 experts from science, politics, and business, current questions concerning e-mobility, the future of batteries, charging infrastructure, and the integration of electric vehicles in society are discussed.

Despite prevailing restrictions, a shared global experience going beyond a purely digital format is created: The immersive LED stage setup unites experts from China, Berlin, and New York on a real stage in the heart of Berlin. And the interaction does not end at the edge of the stage: An exhibition on the topic “Way to Zero” at the DRIVE Volkswagen Group Forum in Berlin not only provides the perfect setting but also offers numerous opportunities for direct interaction and hands-on explanations through its exhibits. Innovation and technology have a clear task: communicating the future of mobility emotionally and globally.
